1 - Arrival
~ Welcome Party ~ University Visit Page
2 - Pictures included
on this page include our time at the University (kimonos, and shami-san lessons),
a tea ceremony, the Emergency Center (earthquake simulation and smoke filled hallway
escape exercise), a visit to the Mayor, and todays events: Asuska (shopping excursion),
Tokyo Tower. Your kids are amazing. They are such a polite and fun group. I'm
proud to see them represent Brea, and am enjoying getting to know each of them.
Everyone is well.. one had a mild headache earlier, but was having a great
time. I'm certain a good night's rest will have him feeling as good as new. Our
weather has been much warmer than usual which means a very light coat or sweater
is all that has been needed to stay comfortable. All the kids are impressing the
local residents with their command of the Japanese language and their willingness
to fully immerse themselves in the local culture/customs (example: trying the
'thick tea' at the Tea Ceremony).
One of you asked about the pick-up time
for our return. As soon as I have details - I'll send them.
Well... my
eyes are getting really sleepy so I'll close for now. Hopfefully you'll spot your
child in some of the group shots - and have a renewed sense of peace about their
well being. Tomorrow the kids will attend the local Jr. High school. It will be
fun to hear their stories, and see their pictures. Your kids are asking about
YOU and hoping all is well. They send their love (check the pics to see!!) All
the best, from 'Ronna-san' and myself. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
